Who likes Bond? James Bond?

fuck YAhhhhh... Bond is what every "SOLO" man emulates.

I grew up on 007... my dad is obsessed with 007... he knows every James Bond actor and can name them with the titles in order it was released...

That's the way it should be! Your dad's a cool guy ;-))

Mmmm... a serious, wounded Bond... true to the books, and to our times. I dunno, I kinda miss the campier one that I grew up with:

Btw, nice find again! My favorite Bonds were Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton :-)

Disclaimer: (I know, I know. Now, don't pick on Dalton)

I've heard Pierce Brosnan say he was up for the role in '87, but his contract with "Remington Steele" prevented him getting it, so it went to Dalton instead. He was severely pissed off about it at the time, and when I heard this, so was I! Dalton was far too grim and humourless for my money. And the "Aussie" Bond George Lazenby (On Her Majesty's Secret Service) was pretty weak too. Give me Roger Moore and Connery every time! My favourite Bond flick: Live And Let Die.

P.S. I'm glad you liked that 1996 compile: best one ever!

Grim and humourless - exactly what Daniel Craig's Bond is. I have tried so many times to explain to people that Dalton was 'ahead of his time' as Bond. I liked Brosnan too, but to me he always was Thomas Crown more than James Bond...

The one Bond movie that never left my mind is Moonraker. I was moved near tears when 'Jaws' was left stranded in space. That I was 7 or 8 when I first saw it doesn't count! By the way I was looking for a poster of Moonraker for here and look what I found. Viva L'internet!

That was my WTF Moment for the day.

Moonraker, huh? Must be our small age difference in action: I thought the Moores started getting silly at that point (though I will grant you it did have some amazing scenes). Oh, and according to my little brother Jon, that poster comes from the Kevin Smith film "(something) Jay And Silent Bob". It's a satire of "Armageddon".

Speaking of Bond, I hope you've seen the seminal Dave & Dawn routine from OTL...

Creativity and Pain

...which got rolling with Dawn's invitation to "virtual martinis" a little less than halfway through and- well- continues to this day!
